Health & Wellness
Our community members will be increasingly healthy, demonstrating decreasing incidence and prevalence of health risk factors and poor health outcomes.
Our health as adults is powerfully influenced by how we developed, physically, cognitively, and emotionally, as children. Research has strongly linked brain, cognitive and behavioral development early in life to an array of important health outcomes later in life, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hypertension, obesity, smoking, drug use and depression, conditions that account for a major portion of preventable morbidity and premature mortality in the United States.
